Secrets of Title Writing - Creating a Killer Title for Your
Article
Writing articles can be one of the easiest, most productive
methods to increase your online presence.
However, if your articles never get read, you have wasted your
time and you could perhaps have done something more productive
with your time.
So, how do you ensure that your articles get read?
Stop and think what you would do if you were searching through
an article site, trying to find an article of interest. Yes,
like most people, you would scan through the titles! This makes
your title extremely important if you want to get your article
read by as many people as possible, which is generally why we
all post articles.
Think about how other media, such as magazines and newspapers,
deal with their headlines. When you are in a shop scanning the
rack, what is it you are generally looking at? That’s right,
all the headlines, to see which one interests you most! You
then pick up the magazine, and scan through for the article
associated with the headline. The exact same principle is used
when scanning articles on a web site.
So now we understand the theory, how do we go about producing
an eye catching title for our article?
I find that the best way is to basically brainstorm, have a bit
of fun, and write down the first things that come into your
head related to your article. At first they might not seem to
be what you really want, but it’s all about getting ideas at
this stage. Try to get a few headlines down straight away, then
you can go back and start to analyse them individually.
The other aspect that you do need to consider at this point are
keywords. Remember that this is all going to be web based, so
you need to try to introduce some hot keywords in to your
title, so that when the search engines start trawling and
analysing, they pick up on your article, and give you a high
ranking in the search engines.
Now, you will find that you start to tweak them, changing a
word here, moving the words around, until you come up with a
couple of headlines which have great keywords and lots of
impact. Now, leave them!
Come back a while later or the next day, and review them again.
Coming at your titles fresh, you can see them in a whole new
light. I normally find I will then give them a little tweak
again, before deciding which one will go on to be my finished
headline.

you an example of how it worked for me.
